Automatic screen configuration with auto-disper

Configuring your screens in ubuntu for presentations or hooking up to a docking station or LCD Tv have always been labor intensive operations that required lots of clicking and knowledge of resolutions.

Disper is a tool used to automate alot of the configuration but lacks the ability to remember previous states or toggle between them gracefully. Auto-disper is a simple script to help memorize and implement the "right" setup once you train it.

Unfortunately the auto-disper script has what I think is a small typo when used on Ubuntu. Attached to this post is the updated script which works as desired. I will try to package this into disper or into my PPA for ubuntu if necessary.

Hey there - thanks for this

Hey there - thanks for this script - it seems very cool!

But I've got a question: Does the auto-disper script have to be put in some disper root folder? I currently have disper working, and binded to a hot key - so I can easily swap to external monitor when my laptop is docked - but it does not bring make my secondary, large screen the primary screen. This is where I think I can use your helpful auto-disper script - where I can save the configuration after I've configured the secondary screen to be the primary screen.

I've run this:
ianmavero@ianmavero-laptop:~$ . auto-disper --save docked
ianmavero@ianmavero-laptop:~$ . auto-disper --save mobil
ianmavero@ianmavero-laptop:~$ . auto-disper -- change

But nothing outputted and nothing happened with the 'change' command. From reviewing your script, there should be some output I think - do you know what I'm doing wrong when I'm trying to save a profile?

Thanks for any help, and for the script!
