I finally bit the bullet and bought a new desk and chair for my "office". Milla sleeps under my desk while i work and she finally broke the support off of hre glass and steel desk i bought many years ago in St Louis. It served me well but i wanted something "warmer" for my next desk and my Office Depot Special chair has seen better days. I spend alot of time at this desk and i figured it was time to get something decent.
After browsing the IKEA site I became smitten with the design of the Gustav desk. The finish matches the bedroom and the design is modern without being geometric, etc. I debated between the Aeron, and freedom chairs for a good while so was a little surprised when i sat in the Klappe chair at and was instantly won over. It was about 3 times cheaper and this is a very nice leather chair that sacrafices nothing on design, ergonomics, and adjustability. It has everything lumbar, seat postion (forward back), arms (up down and swing behind [see second picture]), chair back/forward tilt, etc.
Once i had started i just couldnt stop I guess and Kate talked me into a new trashcan, lamp, pencil holder and an orchid for the desk. We also got a deskmat for kate and we need another for this desk i think. Milla's still a little hesitant but at the first sign of thunder im sure ill have a new best friend again.
